The Permanent Exhibition Room (Comprehensive) has displays concerning the history and folk culture of Fukuoka. At the entrance is an orientation core where a general explanation of the displays is given, and a spacious public space in the center, allowing visitors the freedom to choose the displays according to their own interest. As for the composition of the displays, for history, chronological displays are made from the "Times of Na-Koku" to the "Modernization of Fukuoka." For folk culture, under the theme "Exchanges among Townsmen, Villagers and Coast Inhabitants," displays are made to show the life -styles of people in the Meiji and Taisho Periods.
