was structured around the rhythm of farming. Processing of straw was the daily work in the house.

 

F-12. Ushi Festival and Miyaza Festival
Importanrt events in a village were to workship the God of Fields. The Ushi Festival was held at home, and in the village as a whole, the Miyaza Festival.

 

F-13. LIfe in Fishing Villages
Fishing using various techniques was done in fishing villages. Their catch was sent to towns.

 

F-14. Coast Inhabitants' Belief
They prayed to Ebisu God for big catches and prayed for the safety of their ship to the Guardian God of Ships called Funadama.

 

F-15. Furiuri
Products from farming villages and fishing villages were transported to towns by hawkers called Furiuri who advertised their wares with particular intonations or songs specific to their products.

 

F-16. Entertainment in Villages
Entertainment in villages centered around annual events and festivals held during recess of farming and fishing.

 

F-17. Hakata Utsushi (spreading of Hakata folk culture)
The folk culture of the town was brought to villages and fishing villages through human contacts. Copies of Hakata folk culture are seen in the surrounding areas.
